Coach Josiah Westbrook - Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach
A proud Whatcom County native, Coach Josiah Westbrook enters his first season with the Whatcom Community College men’s basketball program, bringing championship experience, proven leadership, and a strong commitment to developing local talent.
Coach Westbrook was a three-sport athlete at Blaine High School and Squalicum High School, competing in basketball, football, and track & field. On the hardwood, he averaged 18.4 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game his senior year while earning All-Conference honors and helping lead his team to the WIAA State Tournament.
Continuing his career at Lewis-Clark State College (NAIA) from 2016–2018, Coach Westbrook became one of the program’s elite perimeter threats. In two seasons, he helped the Warriors post a dominant 61–10 record, capture a Frontier Conference Championship, and reach the NAIA National Final Four. Known for his three-point shooting and clutch performances, he ranked among the team’s top shooters in both free throw and three-point percentage. Following his collegiate career, Coach Westbrook signed to play professionally in the top league in Morroco.
Now as an assistant coach, Coach Westbrook focuses on guard development, offensive efficiency, and team culture. He plays a key role in recruiting and player mentorship, emphasizing discipline, communication, and consistency. His goal is to use the game of basketball as a platform to build leaders and positively impact Whatcom County’s growing basketball community.
