Bio
Tony Dabbs brings almost 50 years of combined playing and coaching experience to the Whatcom Community College Men’s Soccer family since 2020. In every program he has supported, teams have achieved record-breaking seasons and developed highly successful athletes.
As a high school player, Tony excelled, earning honors such as Team Captain, multiple All-League Selections (4A Channel League in California), helping his team reach its highest rank of 5th in CIF, first ever State berth, and the only unanimous 1st Team All-League selection (Olympic League Washington). At the Community Colleges of Spokane, the team set a record for most goals scored in a season (Tony was 5th leading scorer in NWAC), and he was a two-year scholarship athlete.
As a Head Coach at Mount Vernon High School, he had an overall winning percentage of .0668 with 191 career wins, 3-time Northwest Conference Championships, a District Championship, still holds the NSCAA Washington State record for most goals in a single season and goal differential, received national recognition by ESPN Rise Magazine as the #4 team and 2 Northwest Conference Coach of the Year Awards.
In addition to assisting WCC Soccer, Tony assists at Burlington-Edison High School, a move he made in 2018 to be able to coach his son. Since then, Burlington has earned their first ever District Championship in school history and had their first 3 trips to State with 2 second place finishes.
Tony attended Western Washington University, and has earned his Associate of Arts, Bachelor’s Degree (History) and Master’s Degree (Education). He teaches 5th grade at Washington Elementary School in Mount Vernon.
