Bio
Jason Jorgensen, a native of Bellingham, Washington, has established himself as a dynamic and visionary soccer coach known for his deep understanding of the game and his ability to inspire players both on and off the field. With a coaching career rooted in passion, innovation, and a commitment to player development, Jason has become a respected figure in the soccer community.
Jason's coaching philosophy emphasizes fluidity, creativity, and teamwork. His tactical approach prioritizes intelligent movement on and off the ball, fostering a cohesive playing style that adapts seamlessly between offensive and defensive phases. His teams are known for their discipline, technical prowess, and a never-say-die attitude that reflects his own unwavering dedication.
Beyond tactics, Jason is a mentor who prioritizes the holistic growth of his players. He instills confidence, resilience, and leadership skills, ensuring his athletes excel not only in soccer but in life. His commitment to nurturing young talent has helped countless players achieve their goals, from collegiate scholarships to professional opportunities. Currently Jason has helped over 15 players go on to professional opportunities in the US and abroad.
Jason has made significant contributions to the soccer landscape in Bellingham and beyond, including serving as the Head Coach for Whatcom Community College soccer teams (Men’s since 2015 and Women’s since 2024), where his guidance has shaped the program’s culture and success. His efforts extend into community outreach, organizing clinics, mentoring local youth, and promoting the sport's growth in the region. He is currently 70% winning average at WCC with 186 games played 115 wins, 44 losses and 28 ties during the regular season. His teams have been consistently in the top 20 for JUCO in the country each year under United States Soccer Coaches Association. He has seen many of his players earn national recognition year after year as All Americans and Academic All Americans.
Prior to Whatcom CC Jason as a top assistant at Western WA University for Men and Women as well as Hawaii Pacific University. He has spent time with the Vancouver 86er’s (currently Vancouver Whitecaps) as well as overseas in Ireland and New Zealand. He has been a long-time coach of Whatcom Rangers in the RCL and Mt. Baker High School for the past 20 years. He was a 4 year starter at Trinity Western University earning All American/All Canadian honors. Before college went 86-4-1 at Eastlake High School on Varsity 4 years in Redmond, WA while playing for XF Crossfire Premier Soccer Club and Region IV ODP.
As a lifelong student of the game, Jason holds advanced coaching certifications and continuously seeks opportunities to refine his skills. His dedication to his craft and his players underscores his lasting impact on the soccer community.
