The Whatcom Orcas women’s basketball team (3-9 NWAC, 5-19 overall) used a strong fourth-quarter push to rally past the Edmonds Tritons (3-9 NWAC, 7-17 overall) in a hard-fought NWAC North reguib matchup.

Bellingham, WA – The Whatcom Orcas used a 19–10 fourth-quarter run to rally past the Edmonds Tritons, 52–50, in NWAC women's basketball action.
Whatcom fell behind during the third quarter, but the Orcas found new life in the final period. Strong defensive pressure and key baskets down the stretch fueled the comeback as Whatcom took control late and held on for the two-point victory.
Laylah Kessee (Fr., Alief Elsik H.S./Houston, TX.) had 24 points to lead the Orcas. Kessee was 11-18 from the field.
The Orcas' defensive effort proved decisive on the glass. Rokesia Sands (Fr.) led the way with 13 rebounds, anchoring a ferocious team defensive performance that helped swing momentum in the fourth quarter. Isla Kelly (Fr., Lakes H.S./Lakewood, WA.) added nine rebounds to help Whatcom control possessions and close out the win.
Whatcom stays at home on Saturday, February 21st at 4 p.m. vs. Shoreline C.C. Dolphins. The game Saturday will be the last home game for the Orcas. Sophomore night will occur before the game.
