Bio

Cody Luthy was hired as the Head Volleyball Coach at Whatcom Community College in 2018, where he has built a competitive program that earned NWAC North Region Coach of the Year honors in 2019. In addition to his coaching role, Luthy serves as the High School+ Coordinator, overseeing program operations, marketing, and student success initiatives.

Luthy’s coaching career began at the age of 14, assisting his father with a competitive soccer team. This early experience sparked his passion for fostering growth, building high-performing cultures, and empowering individuals to achieve their goals. While attending Western Washington University, he was the starting libero for the WWU Men’s Club Volleyball team and served as its president from 2015 to 2016. He also worked as an assistant coach for the WWU Women’s Club Volleyball team.

Previously, Luthy served as Director of Coaches for Apex NW Volleyball Club, where he developed athletes and coaches through a structured skills curriculum. His U18 Summit team achieved the highest national ranking in Whatcom County’s history in 2017. Luthy also coached with Ferndale Volleyball Club, where he guided athletes in their pursuit of collegiate scholarships. Luthy was selected as the North Region Representative for the NWAC Volleyball Sports Committee, where he advocates for positive changes in the sport.
